Synchronization
Gizmodic uses sync codes embedded in the Rifftrax Readme file to determine the playback offset between the Rifftrax and movie. This has two main implications.

  • The offset determined by Gizmodic isn't exactly right. Usually it is within 1 second of the real value. Fine-tuning is achieved through the Controls Panel.

  • Unusual Readme files break Gizmodic. For example, the "Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring" Rifftrax was designed for a two-disc form of the movie and therefor it's Readme contains two sections. Result: broken Gizmodic playback.

DVD Playback
The DVD Playback system can be a little bit finicky. If Gizmodic is behaving oddly consider ejecting the disc and trying again. If that still doesn't work, try restarting the machine.
